I've heard that song about a thousand times. It's one of the greats in the Broadway songbook, and I think this is the best performance of it I've ever heard. His textual interpretation is mesmerizing. The way he picks out certain words and emphasizes others - that is SUCH a hard skill to teach. The next time Broadway revives Ragtime, you've got your Coalhouse.
